Vetiver essential oil is a dark golden-brown color and has a thick consistency. It has a spicy, woody aroma and is used as a base note in aromatherapy blends.

APPLICATION

Vetiver essential oil may be applied neat; however, it is thick and may be easier to use if diluted 50:50 in a carrier oil. It is suitable for direct inhalation, diffusion, topical application, and ingestion.

PRIMARY USES

Soothes acne, vitiligo, and dry skin; rejuvenates aching muscles and sore feet; alleviates pain caused by tendinitis, joint stiffness, menstrual cramps, and muscular dystrophy; reduces attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms. When used in aromatherapy or for meditation, vetiver essential oil can combat absentmindedness, alleviate depression, and provide an overall sense of calm.
